One for my son and one for me...It is actually too expensive !
Nearly 90 $ for one game here (it is the standard edition by the way)!
But after over 10 years i couldn't resist  :)

I am playing the single campaign for now .

Are here any other starcraft 2 players ?

I've been looking at it.  Never really was a starcraft fan.  I might grab once it price drops.  Also wish it was offered digitally from steam too, as I basically buy all games from Steam now its nice to have 1 spot stop to redownload games etc.

Personally I've been playing (and loving) AI War Fleet Command, an indie RTS that is so in depth, and awesome.  The AI is amazing, and makes the games a decent challenge.  It also has the ability to do co-op campaigns multiplayer, with save ability so you can both come back later and continue(since games can last hours). I originally tried out the demo when it was on a discount deal on Steam, then bought it.  Later bought the expansion pack too.  The graphics arn't the most amazing, but its got a good artistic style that can play on a high range of computers (my netbook can play it, one advantage -- but i do have to turn off some of the prettier features).  But I love long playtime RTS and Turn based strategy.  Average time for a game is 5-6 hours or something I believe. It's crazy fun, and the AI still finds ways to surprise me and challenge while not feeling like I'm playing against a computer that just uses cheats in order to be "hard".  They will attempt multi front attacks, scout, try sneaking past your front line and smash around your internal systems, etc. And the AI has a progress meter basically, where each time you do certain acts, kill certain units, build/own certain units the AI will progress and become harder.  As it progresses it will send larger fleets, more often, and higher unit powers as it goes.  It also starts defending a bit more intelligently making your attacks harder to complete. It's a fun game, highly recommended if you enjoy RTS to give the demo a shot http://store.steampowered.com/app/40400/

As for starcraft 2, I'll give it a shot eventually.  If I do I'll try to remember to hit you up and maybe play a few matches against you ;).   I might get it pre price drop if a few of my friends end up buying it and want to play together.

AI War Fleet Command looks interesting . "The graphics aren't the most amazing" definitely  :)
But it seams like fun and it is very inexpensive !
Especially after Starcraft2! I may try it in the future. Thanks Neuspadrin :)

If you didn't liked Starcraft , i doubt that you will like the new one .  But you have to try of course  ;)
It looks like a remake for now . This doesn't bother me because i liked-like the old one so much .

You can digital download the game from the Blizzard store and you can only do it there.

StarCraft II is awesome. I really suck at it, but it's still awesome :P

I like Terran's more. Like in the old Starcraft . But the others are fun too.
And there comes a time you are sick with one side and play with the others more of course  :)

I play still with my son at home for now. In the old game i didn't play with others. We used to play LAN or from Battlenet with my friends.
But i think in the near i will begin to play with others :)

But Battlenet detachment is bad! i don't know why it is happening. But loosing connection near the end or so is not nice  :(
This was one of my fears with this new approach !

Sjefen , did you play the old Starcraft?

Hi Kadri,

Yes. I played the original one a lot back in the days :)
I thought it would be easy to just jump back in, but there are
some new things that make it a little different than the old one.

I am waiting for Civilization V myself. I am not a very good player of Civ 4, but I like it. Especially early in the game.

After seeing a preview of Civilization V I download a demo of Civilization IV from steam. I thought it would be right up my street but I must admit I'm finding it a bit overwhelming. I'm constantly getting boxes popup asking me what unit I should build next or what technology I should research or what action a particular unit should be doing and I never know what I should select.

How long did it take you to get into njeneb and start understanding what all the units and techs do?? I get the feeling it's a really deep complex game but once understood provides a great deal of fun, I found the same with Eve-online initially as well.

Civ4 is pretty complicated, but a lot of fun.  One thing that is helpful when learning civ4 is that you can set cities/towns to be auto managed, and give basic idea of what you want it to manage for.  Helps when you don't really know what to do, and if you keep an eye on some of the automanaged ones you can get an idea of a good progression or some ideas etc.  Though sometimes auto manage does stupid stuff ;)

There is a tutorial that you can play also. That explained enough to me to get started. I try to play diplomatically, not aggressively. I use culture and city location to acquire more cities and territory.

Same usually... When you turn to battles things can get crazy... I try to stay neutral and acquire through good means.
