It has been a while, so I am starting from scratch which is somehow fun.

This scene was finished one month ago, but I was playing with some functions to modify the appearance a bit ... well, I finally rendered it without any changes.

Have fun!

Dune

Myst indeed. Great game, by the way. How about some foam and perhaps a maglev? I like the silvery water.

Great water, and good to have you back Volker  :)

Well, yesterday, I had some sightseeing around this planet and was thinking to myself, it would be a waste to drop after one mediocre render.
Attached is another postcard from an area nearby.

This planet is going to be massivly terraformed ... up to a point where these views will never show up again.

domdib

Great atmo and some very nice veg surfacing.

Looks vaguely reminiscent of my Mojoliths - which to create I believe I borrowed heavily from a file you (or efflux) may have created earlier and shared with us.  I can see the logical progression about to happen...
They're all wasted!

@Rich2: I just had to check this image of yours to understand your post ... you have achieved a stunning world there!

My goal is less filigrane, more voloptous, rudimentary, stone-aged ,-)

Trying to combine any of the more interesting functions on a planetary scale with different, overlapping areas.
I hope it will work with less than 2 or 3 Comppute normals ,-)

Zairyn Arsyn

love the vegetation in the last render
wouldn't mind stomping through that for a while... :D
WARNING! WIZARDS! DO NOT PREDICT THE BEHAVIOR OF OTTERS UNLESS YOU OBEY BIG HAPPY TOES.
