the problem I have with "visible" roots is the trees often wind up floating in a 'pop' so if they come to me as an .obj or .3ds, I take them into PoseRay and delete the roots before I do the 'drop to zero' thing, and then save.....the roots disappear and the trees sit on the ground as they should although a tree with roots is way valuable in a single tree closer up situation as roots are key to realisim in close ups.. ...
