Tropics

Bit of a tropical scene here.  Some of it I like but some not so much!  The jungle is made up of 12 different species of trees so it has nice diversity which I am happy with, and the water looks great.  The beach is more difficult, while I like that it is smooth and blown out it just doesn't integrate all that well.  Took a long time to render the water so maybe unlikely that I will redo anything.

The beach is not so bad. Sometimes sand will reflect light so it looses any contrast.

Do you mean the transition from sand to jungle undergrowth. Maybe some patches of grass or some coarser grained sand may help the integration at the jungle fringe. And you'd just require a crop render to overlay your main render. But the suggested embellishments would be just that; not really necesary.

I like this a lot, too. Are there shadows enabled on the water object, or something? The transition of the sub-surface visibility and its cut-off point seems very drastic and sharp. Maybe, though, my eyes are just confusing the reflectivity on the beach sand with transparency. Most likely.

If you did save the render as an EXR too , you can alter the brightness and so on the EXR and then comp it on this one.
Or use whatever method you like. I save in BMP and EXR at the same time for cases like this.
Mostly no need to render ones more.

A big improvement Ryan. Nice work with the sand. I like the darker area where the water effects the sand color. This is something I seem to remember to do, but somehow never do it.
