Hi everyone ...

I'm trying to make a picture with rocks in it. When I try to give some texture to the rocks (using a PF) TG2 closes. This has happened three times in a row. Does anyone have an idea why this is happening? It hasn't happened before to me.
Heard of computer graphics? CG? Terragen 2, the landscape generating program, also known as TG, a whole cool way to create realistic CG - with TG.

This may not be the answer; but try to pause the Preview window before connecting the Power fractal.

Could this be moved to TG2 Support?
They just issued a tornado warning and said to stay away from windows. Does that mean I can't use my computer?

I don't think tg rocks are perfect yet...have you tried other objects?

jbest

I was using the fake stones shader, and those aren't objects ... but I have tried other objects like planets and trees. Trees are just fine but I also was putting a planet in the picture when I had the rocks and TG2 closed.

could you post a tgd file, this would possibly shed more light?

Nothing special, just a fake stones shader with a scale of 30 and tallness of 10 (big stones), along with a planet. I couldn't save the previous ones since they closed before I saved anything useful, so I'll make a new one.

This happened to me a few times.

I think you have to clean out/delete the registry files using an awesome program called CCleaner.
I would also advise to uninstall and reinstall TG2 as well trying to fix it.

If none of the above works, then you'll need to post this is in the support forum.

Thanks Blackheart6004, I'll try these things (one at a time, of course).

Hi,

If you can consistently reproduce this problem can you please post the steps to do so? Please think of it as "How to Crash Terragen for Dummies" when you're writing out the steps.

Regards,

Jo

Yes, pretty sure :-). It helps to be clear and explicit about steps to reproduce problems because sometimes it's one little thing which triggers the problem.
