For my birthday, I decided I'd get back to Terragen 2. I didn't quite mean to crank out this picture. Not quite sure what happened to the near ground. Anyhow, comments and critics welcome!
Heard of computer graphics? CG? Terragen 2, the landscape generating program, also known as TG, a whole cool way to create realistic CG - with TG.

Not bad. Try reducing the fractal roughness and spike limits in the sands. That should smooth things out so it does not look spikey.

Thanks njeneb. I actually
decreased
the displacement amplitude of the terrain and didn't touch anything else.
