Hi

I have finally managed to put my Stones_v5 lib into Deep Canyon scene .. no more black shadows :-)

Here the result.. a bit different from original scene I posted here previously, new low clouds shader and vegetation coverage + DOF in render camera (only contrast a bit adjusted)

agreed!!....nice foreground but it would be nice if there was little more might deep inside the canyon :)

Quotevery good foreground !
Sorry, I don't know about that. By the DOF and the clouds there hardly seems a focal point. I must admit I found your first iteration more interesting. Here, you kind of get lost... if you get my point.

Onyx

I got your point.. but the picture now fully fits with my quality expectations.. so I am happy man !  ;D

I agree with Ulco here. The clouds obscure the great depth of the canyon which normally would draw a viewer further into the image.
Besides that I think the cloud layer is too thin and too dense and therefore doesn't look really natural to me. The foreground stones and canyon displacements are still very good!

Martin

Regarding clouds density into canyon see this photo .. they are also very dense for low clouds : http://www.worldwonderphotos.com/images/watermark/a049077-The-Edge-of-Colca-Canyon.JPG

After I think it is more a question of taste ;)

Tangled-Universe

Your reference clouds have more depth and also the lighting conditions are very different there. Yours is very bright which emphasizes the "cotton" look of the clouds. Well, that's how I look at it.
It's definitely a matter of taste as well :)

Onyx

I agree lighting conditions but also altitude offset between camera and clouds are different.. which could explain why in picture reference the clouds seems have more depth.  In any case thanks for your comment.

MacGyver

Very nice stones! :)
For my taste the clouds take too much space and seem a bit flat if you know what I mean, but anyhow, nice image!
