A very simple composition for beginners like me with a Mini Cooper object (thanks to Mandrake) and a image map shader applied on the ground.
Bowls are simple spheres with different reflective shaders.

This has a sort of Bryce look to it. I would try using some power fractals for the ground. They break up the regularity of the surface better. Planetside has some free objects. http://www.planetside.co.uk/content/view/21/36/ They are at the bottom of the page.

Terragen.org has some cool stuff also. http://www.terragen.org/index.php

And NWDA http://www.nwdanet.com/ has some really good stuff for free and for sale.

If you replace the ground photo texture by some 'real' fake stones, it would greatly benefit. Keep them low, like pavement.

i agree with dune on this one.

i like the chrome spheres though. (reflections)

Thanks for your tips.

So I wanted to make your improvements (use fake stones instead of pavement map and add PFS displacements)
but i don't succed to open my work !!!

I get the error : "H:\Terragen\TGD\mini.tgd: Parse error at line 1499: not well-formed (invalid token)"
Is it a known problem  ???

Henry Blewer

Open the tgd file in notepad. Check your file names. There maybe be an character that Terragen 2 does not parse. Umlauts are one case of this.

Thanks njeneb !

I succeed to open my work by removing the "è" character in "boule arrière plan" (name of 1 PFS)

Then i have modified the ground by replacing the image map shader by flat fake stones with 2 PFS.

Finally i used Photoshop to adjust the contrast.

This looks much better. 8) The image tile technique works good for man made things like walls, walks, and roads. You can add a power fractal between the image map shader and the surface layer to vary the color. Just plug the image map shader into the power fractals Blend by node connection.
