Naked, sun burnt, penniless and needing a ride home. Sorry, Henry. There are no winnings.

If you think I'm in bad shape, you should see Mr Choronzuk! Much the same but married to some woman, well, I say woman but the details are a bit sketchy. Haven't seen him for some time... :D

Just an afterthought. I thought it might be a bit of fun.
Interestingly, this one took 7.5hrs to render, the first ones were under 1.5hrs. That's long shadows for you, glad I didn't use soft shadows.

Cheers! :)

Nice - How do you keep it so bright with the sun so low?

dandelO

Hi, man.
The sun is at 5 degrees elevation. The exposure and contrast settings are the same as in the shared .tgd in file sharing. I think that was; render contrast = 0.625 and light exposure = 1.5 in the camera.

There's actually less ambient light in this one as I deleted the 3 fill sunlight nodes from the .tgd but upped the main sun strength to 5.
Too much fill lights make a scene very flat with a low sun because they'll fill everything, I usually only use fill lighting on already bright scenes where shadows might be too dark. I wanted dark shadows here so I just relied on sunlight and GI on surfaces for this one, the exposure and contrast settings just bring out the lighting better. Nothing funky.

Cheers! :)

the 'pros and cons of hitch hiking' springs to my mind....an incredible road movie shot...love this!

Thanks, Jason. I like how the Greyhound bus turned out in the distance. The 'Michael 4' model seems a bit fake, though. I've never imported any of my DAZ3D characters into TG before, I'll need to work on the skin shaders a bit if I'm to use any again. For this one, they're the default DAZ shader settings, they're a bit too 'solid' looking, I think.

I'm very much enjoying the long shadows and the light and mood!!

Dune

Nice variation, Martin, great shadows and lighting, but I agree about the guy. He's not up to your terrain quality. Maybe replace him with a skeleton sitting there (having been waiting just too long).

choronr

Skeleton my arce, the old fart gots a way to go. As for his woman, she be kin to Godzilla's friend: Mothra. Thats why he took to this TG2 thing.

Love the low sun view of this highway - that's really the way it look at days end.

Great surface alongside the road, Martin! The sand "waves" seem a bit too big but that's a minor point. I like this image a lot!

Cheers,
