OBJ material not rendering

I found a Snow Owl in .obj format online and am trying to incorporate it in a scene.  Unfortunately, the material (UV-mapped image) isn't rendering in TG2.  When I open up in PoseRay it looks great.  I recall reading somewhere that re-exporting from PoseRay can fix some issues, so I did that and same result.

To try and diagnose the issue, I created a brand-new scene, imported the owl, and changed nothing else except for positioning the render camera in close... same result.

I edited the .mtl file to both not have any path, and to have the correct absolute path for my system (the .obj, .mtl and supporting images are all in the same folder).

Any thoughts?  The .obj, .mtl and supporting images are attached.

Worked for me. Mat 11 and 12 - I can't work those out (16x16 pixels?) Sorry I can't be of more use.

The object that you attached seems to work ok here. Interestingly it doesn't work properly in Cinema 4D however. It does seem to work in Poseray, but exporting to OBJ, even with all "fix" options checked, doesn't fix it in C4D. However I can manually specify the right maps in C4D and it looks ok. But in any case it does seem fine "out of the box" in TG, x64 on Win 7...

I'm using the current (I think... as of a week ago) free version of TG2.  Any chance something was fixed in the commercial version?

Oshyan

Possible yes. In which case you'd just have to wait for the 2.3 free version release.

Not sure if this is your problem ,but anyway :)

When i loaded it first i thought too that the textures didn't show.
But the eyes textures were there.

The body texture is very week to show properly. It is there but it looks like the default gray color mostly .
If you put any other texture on the Owl or paint some lines on it and try the same Owl ones again you will see that there is no problem.
You can change the  "Diffuse colour" setting in the material shader node for a more white appearance etc.

I would change the texture. It isn't good except for far away use.

I use the free 2.2.23.1 TG2.
Hope this helps , PeanutMocha!

Wow strange... I was certainly getting 100% white eyes.  Rebooted my PC, recreated the scene the same way and now I get the texture.

Gremlins I guess.   :o
