hi,
I did some animation test today.
I posted few frames here.
http://www.vimeo.com/24206842
As you see i 've some GI problem in the forground but i think i can fix this with surface detail.
My main problem in the right part, 30 m from the camera.
Some fake stone split themselves and merge together again.
Any tip to tweak this kind of problem?
for info :
GI 2 2
Q .5
AA .5
detail blend 1
microvertex et detail jittering on.
thx for your help

Probably something to do with your node network, but wouldn't know by just seeing the quick movie. Sometimes deformation isn't stable and depends upon the viewing angle, which sounds more like a bug. But, not sure.
So this is Disney World. Can we live here?

Try rendering with Detail Blending set to 1 and a "Ray Detail Region" > "Detail in camera" of 0.25 and 0.25. (if you see no change try higher settings up to 1)
Hope it helps

Hmmm...I thought that would only help with shadow-flickering and not geometry popping?

Are they not linked? Without the scene specifics (file) its hard to diagnose one way or the other.
Another possibility would be to up the Displacement tollerance on the planet node.

Ray Detail Region shouldn't affect geometry *in* frame as far as I know. This may be a case where higher detail is required, or it may need to use some of the new experimental rendering settings we've been working on specifically for animation. Those will be available and documented in a future update, but if you look around the forum you can find some info on the subdivision settings node and play around with it...

here goes the project file. (with fun with new note node...seriously, this is the best new feature, i like it a lot.)
Before going to sleep i will lauch a render with quality at .7.
I've never try but can go over 1 with detail blending value ?
I will post the render tomorrow.
thanks for your help everyone.

I had a similar problem with fake stones, and was told to play around with Displacement Tolerance in the Planet node. I haven't had a go with it as of yet, but that may help too.
