Got fascinated with the breaking waves with foam made by Dune, so I've been trying them out in a slightly different setting other than the sandy beaches they originated from. I like the way they interact with shallows. I had to reduce the foam quite a bit though as the rugged terrain seemed to be a vivid catalyst for the breakers.

Sand and stones are dandelO elements. Essential seascape elements! I had a hard time tuning the proportions of sand and stones and I'm still not sure this is quite as I'd like it to be. The sand tends to cover stones with just a shallow layer making it look a bit like dust.

It looks pretty convincing, except that the water looks funny. I don't know whether that is solid-looking foam or just rocks with white tops sticking out of the water.
Heard of computer graphics? CG? Terragen 2, the landscape generating program, also known as TG, a whole cool way to create realistic CG - with TG.

I am very impressed by this image. The green hills need some trees perhaps. Some flowers or something else to break up the color.

TheBadger

It has been eaten.

Dune

Nice indeed, but I think you need to decrease the displacement in the foam quite a bit. And it might benefit from something like a boat on shore or a row of old poles (or a couple of shrub/trees) to give it a 'subject'.

Eikers

Thanks for input everyone.

jbest: All the white is foam. I agree it looks a bit heavy.
Dune: Thanks, I'll try reducing the displacement. I too think the shore need some content, just need to make up my mind about it.
njeneb: I've populated the left bank for you now.

The closest trees are European Aspen from XFrog. These are quite common many places near the sea. I know this species has been used a lot traditionally for constructions in the water because it is not easily destroyed by wood eating worms living in saltwater.

The grass is dandelO's PGS, tuned down to fit the scene. I don't know who made the cottage, but its garden tree is a Chestnut made by Marc Gebhart. Bushes are from Mr.Lampposts basic bushes pack.

Windy bay is really nice. I like the camera change. This would make a really nice pan animation.
