I know....two images by me from the middle east...maybe a new series. Anyone have some DEMs or terrains of Jordan, Syria, Israel, Egypt, Iraq, Turkey???

There were many blue artifacts on the left cliff face that I post worked out. The blue dots and lines appeared almost like the atmo was overlaying or seeing through the rock face. Does anyone know what might have cause this? I tried several test renders and shut-off different shaders and objects to try and see what was causing it....I still have no clue.
Thanks, especially to those who share.
Hey, cyphyr.....where are you??? Please share some more of your wonderful files...I miss your art!!! :)

They just issued a tornado warning and said to stay away from windows. Does that mean I can't use my computer?

Fine work on this one Mark. One thing; I would suggest you make the bushes and flowers smaller to suit the scale of the mountains.

Markal

O.K. Bob,
What scale are you talking about?  If the shrubs and flowers are 2 to 3 feet than the cliffs are around 30 feet. That is the scale I think is correct for this image. The cliff height would be close to a 30 foot or three floor building. Please tell me what you are talking about and why can't you see it?

choronr

I believe if you were to reduce the sizes of the flowers and bushes by 20%, you may be even happier with the scale.

jbest

Very great looking and very realistic. However it appears that the sun rays are a little bit noisy.
Heard of computer graphics? CG? Terragen 2, the landscape generating program, also known as TG, a whole cool way to create realistic CG - with TG.

Markal

Sorry Bob,
The scale is correct for my image. The cliffs are supposed to be around 30 feet or 3 stories of a building....not 5000 feet. The shrubs and flowers would come up to our knees and be about 2 to 3 feet tall. To reduce them 20% would put them below our feet and make the cliffs look massive....massive cliffs don't exist in Israel.

I don't know what you are thinking but, in this part of the world (middle east) I was trying to show the cliffs are not as tall as in the southwest U.S. where you come from. Give me a brake......
MARK.....

Dune

Perhaps... but I got the impression of huge flowers at first glance as well.

cyphyr

Aw shucks ;)
Good to see thoes old files used! You must have been rummiging about in some fairly old posts. Maybe the scale issue could be sorted by softening the strata. The hard lines make it look massive, also try to break it up a little with a pf.

bushes are too big and way too many for area they live in, resources more scarce than to allow so thick growth. plants need right amount of soil to get right amount of nutrient. the plants so thick like this is good for jungle or forest meadow but on rock outcrops not so many grow.
