Hi. I'm new here. I discovered Terragen 2 a couple of weeks ago and became instantly obsessed. I toyed with Terragen Classic many years ago, but this new procedural terrain stuff blows my mind! Can't stop thinking about it. Anyway, here's one of many early experiments. With time (and patience, which I lack) I hope to match the detail and sophistication I see in the work of others.

Hi and welcome to the forums  :)

This is a very cool image. I love things like Stonehenge and other ancient structures.
Are those fake stones by the way??

Yes, they're fake stones with displacement. Their coverage area is being masked/blended by a painted color shader with a circle shape.

Nice. Reminds me of 'The Heroes' by Joe Abercrombie.

great start, and welcome!
maybe you could add some vegetation, masked by the inverted painted shader, and some trees/forest in the background?

Very nice and cool image.

The far clouds look a little noisy, is that because the samples or low or is that just the way it is?
Heard of computer graphics? CG? Terragen 2, the landscape generating program, also known as TG, a whole cool way to create realistic CG - with TG.

Yeah, I've noticed that noise in other renders too. Seems to be associated with haze. Probably just a render quality issue.
