Second iteration...
I know...cattails growing on rock...wierd clouds....distant trees show a parallel pattern. Thats the mystery....what caused the parallel pattern. I did a crop render with one tree object at time and none of them showed this pattern. I think the pattern comes when all three trees are combined in the final render. Its strange and I need help...other suggestions are also welcome.
   The clouds are full of faces....do you see them....strange huh?
I'm tired of this image and want to move on...with some suggestions I may try them and finish this one once and for all.

You know, I can't remember how many times I've made a render that somehow just don't agree with me; but, decide to post it anyway. Then comes the crits - some good, some bad. In any event, I try some of the positive things and the image gets worse.

Ok. so what to do. Maybe a radical repositioning of the sun. Yes, that seems to do the trick. Now, lets improve those plants. Overall, maybe too much contrast. Lets try to make it more real,

Mark, don't know about you; but, I create maybe one out of ten that pleases me - yet, post them all - this is the way to learn.

I have to tell you I really liked the first one better. The clouds are great, and yes I see the faces, they seem demonic. Which plays well with the original image and my thought that you should go with the "garden of earthly delights" theme.

I agree with you both....but, Bob...I render maybe one out of four that pleases me and I know exactly what you mean. If I say WOW look at that...then I know others will say WOW.  Thanks to both of you for the comments. I'm trying....somethimes it works and other times.....well...you all know....

this is looking good Mark, have you checked the camera projection for the leaf textures?
the repetion maybe caused by this (repeated) texture, does changing the projection camera orientation eliminate the repetition - what about changing the image scale also?...maybe try using obj's UV for textures?
not sure if these will help...but it might...
