A nice terrain enhanced by files created by others.

Some elements included are:

•   FrankB's 'Simple Camoflage Surface' added to my surfaces.
•   dandelO's  'PGS Evolution' grass surface on distant mountains.
•   dandelO's 'Altocumulus' clouds.
•   Walli's 'Dry Shrubs' and XFrog cactii.

Enjoy,

Bob

Hey Bob,
This looks like a desert scene...ohh...it is and you live in a desert environment....so you have some personal inspiration....:)
Very close to photo - realism....a superb job. This is what you do best. Desert King.....nah, your still the Hoover man to me. :)
Wonderful work!

Hey thanks Mark. I use a 'Dyson' however.

:)

is pretty, but prickly pears too flat, not seeing thorns, and maybe organ pipe is too defined at segments. re work models for more real look. Dyson vacuums good but fans are silly idea and overpriced. I use the vacuum too.

Jonathan

Love the scene Bob - As I live in Bristol I will have to try and model Cheddar Gorge :) P.S My parents had a 1964 Hoover - lasted for 15 years :)
Every problem is an opportunity, but there are so many opportunities it is a problem!

Natasha, thank you for visiting. Prickly pear cactus are flat; and, their thorns are relatively small. Organ Pipes come in two varieties - one is segmented; the other is not. The models do not need reworking - come to the Arizona desert and see for yourself

But, Dyson does are far better job of cleaning than others - you want something good? - you pay the price.

Thank you for your visit. The desert out here is a delight to see.

Know nothing about Hoover. Markal (Mark Edwards) started a rumor years ago that I am a Hoover vacuum cleaner salesman (cause he says my pictures suck). Actually, I'm retired after 47 years in management as a  procurement agent.

Markal

No Bob,
I called you the Hoover Man because your wonderful images made all of our pictures suck....don't you remember. It was many years ago.

Oh so long ago ...back then it was just you, me and dirt. Just kidding ...very nice of you to say.

Nice render , Bob :)
It is your scene but the only thing i would change is the "Prickly pear cactus" on the left near.
They look more real a little far away to me too. But then i have only seen them in photos ;)

Thank you Kadri, the PP cactus appears smooth until you get close and see the small clusters of needles (called aeroles) which produce new flowers; or new extensions of growth. They are relatively flat which gives them that 'bunny ears' look. We have many variety of these guys growing out here. Their fruit is edible are are quite prolific.

good job again, Bob

Thank you Franck, I'm working on another version. May not be done for awhile.

Seth

I like the pov and the panoramic format of this one.
Did you try some DOF ?
