Taking a break from regular landscapes, trying a little close-up work.

Nice :)
The swords lighting is flat. Not sure what the problem is.
Maybe i would try to get another POV too .
But  for now the sword is the main problem for me.

Fun image. But I have to agree with kardi. The sword looks like an illustration photoshopped into a render. Keep at it, its worth it I think.
It has been eaten.

I couldn't get the imape map to look right for the other sword, so there was a change in weaponry. Not quite as flashy as the previous one. C&C.............

Yes! This is very nice. Great reflections on the sword.
Mouthwash? We don't need no stinking mouthwash!! [MI2]

Made some minor changes with PS.

A thank you list: Frank for the Hero rock, Walli for the grass and chickweed, Xfrog for the pansy, Mark for the chrome shader and inkydigit for the brass shader. If I've left anyone out.............

I like this sword much better, for one thing the material is better.

Yes I agree. Also, the first sword looked like it was from a telling of the story for children, but the second sword looks like it is from a more adult telling of the Arthur myth. Gritty is better I think.

What is "the chrome shader"?
It has been eaten.
