With all of the weird viruses about and the general failure of man-made antibiotics, I have found these formulas to be quite hardy in making one healthy.  I first found out about this through a chemist in New Zealand.

Ghehe, funny.

It's not known yet how garlic works, but some research showed that garlic can have beneficial effects.
Some farmers here in The Netherlands use garlic as an anti-infection agent for their cattle.
Same goes for peppers, which can act like adrenaline-like compounds and stimulate metabolism.
Metabolism and immunity are heavily related to each other (food -> fat -> inflammation -> metabolic syndrome -> diabetes)

I'm not really sure though if I would like to drink/ingest a recipe which stimulates my immune-system.
Why would I do that?
I think it's generally not desirable to unspecifically stimulate my immune system and potentially "toxicate" myself with my own pro-inflammatory cytokines which can induce all kinds of secondary inflammation-like side-effects.

Sometimes there are "tough bastards" which are really challenging for your immune system, but eventually your immune system will figure it out.
The immune system is highly adaptive, but needs time and a generally healthy host ;)

I think the idea is that combining these two recipes you can ward off the respiratory viral contagions floating about, whether man-made or "natural".

Sure, but my argument still stands: why would you activate your immune system in an unspecific manner?
By unspecific I mean that you stimulate your immune system as a whole and not specifically for certain viral agent, which we call vaccination.

A viral infection challenges your adaptive immune system. There's no need to activate that as it will be activated by the virus.

See it like you're allergic to wasps and get stinged, but only a bit less worse, but the effect/principle is similar.
You drink/ingest the mix and hit your immune system, which in turn makes molecules to activate other immune cells and have new cells being made which in turn also going to produces molecules which stimulate the immune system.
Potentially inducing a cascade which can lead to chronic inflammation.

For instance, diabetes is chronic inflammation in the fat, but there's no virus/bacteria or what else.
Still the immune system is activated because the fat "tells" it's in an inflammatory environment.

Strengthening your immune system in general in relationship to a natural antibiotic will help the body against what is fluenza.  It's a similar idea as vaccination and why people take the flu shot.  But, this is natural and not as dangerous or precarious as a flu shot.

Unless you have lived around a plague of people who about every other person has this respiratory influenza, then it's easy to assume your body will just learn to resist it.  But, why go through that if you have a way to combat it?  Not sure that makes sense.
