For you modelers out there, the following is offered as a free download until Feb 29, 2012:

    DAZ Studio 4 Pro
    Bryce 7 Pro
    Hexagon 2.5

The retail price for all this is over US$800.

The following thread gives you details and links to other free content and components for the software:
http://slickdeals.net/f/3893526-Daz3D-3-Free-Software-Suite-Programs-DAZ-Studio-4-Pro-Bryce-7-Pro-Hexagon-2-5-Free?

The DAZ site is slow as you'd expect.

I have not tried DAZ Studio yet, but I am hoping it can be used for posing models/characters, something that is badly needed for creation of variations for populations in TG. Anybody use Hexagon at all? Now excuse me while I free up some space on my hard drive...

Thanks for the link, bit of a trip down memory lane.
Grabbed these and also posted on FB.
Bryce was where I started out in the whole 3D world. Actually got paid for some high res Bryce images and a short animation way back in 1998 (?)

Great deals, though...for free!  And some extras come along, like GoZ for DAZ and Photoshop Bridge.
So this is Disney World.  Can we live here?

The offer has been extended until the end of March, if you have not had a chance to get the freebies. Plus, there are weekly freebies from the DAZ library, just watch out for the emails once you register. From what I've read on the boards, Meshlab (Freeware) is capable of poly count reduction, which is going to be very important for these high poly models out of DS for use in TG scenes. Here is a tutorial: http://www.shapeways.com/tutorials/polygon_reduction_with_meshlab
