I am creating cameras to allow me to switch view quickly between an 15km overhead, 5km overhead, and inside view as I construct  a Canyon.

At the moment I navigate to where I would like the camera to be, create the camera, switch to the render tab, make the camera the active render camera, LMB Click the copy the viewport camera position to current render camera button.

Is there a faster way to do this, it is a lot of button clicking!
Ideally I would like the camera to be created where at the current position of the viewport camera (perspective view camera).

I can't think of any other way.

Having every new camera use the current view in the 3D Preview sounds like a good idea. Maybe we can do this.

Just because milk is white doesn't mean that clouds are made of milk.

If you have the animation version you could create keyframes of those places you want and then just change the frames to switch between positions

Thanks, it would be great if you are able to do this.
