I really like the atmospherics in the first image and the overall look in the second image.  Perhaps the trees in the first image could be varied in size?  And maybe smooth the water a bit in the second image?

I like the first image quite a lot. You've picked a hard subject to light well. I have been having good luck adjusting the enviro light for the atmosphere lower, then increasing the camera exposure settings higher. When this is done correctly, the foreground will be illuminated properly.

The 2nd image is just cool looking. Nice work. Try a smaller wave size in the water shader. (I sometimes used a couple of landmark objects at a known distance apart to judge the size I like.)

This whole forest thing started a year ago when my youngest brother asked me to do a 'fairy tale' like forest.
This is actually the first forest scene (or any scene with flora an fauna) I've ever created.
Not really a forest at dawn, but still, a good attempt I guess.
