Hi guys, been a while since my last post.

Just thought I'd give a slightly belated heads up on terragen being used on SWATH.

First time I've used it in film production and first time for the studio I'm working at.
We did all the environment work on and around Duke Hammond's castle, and rendered the final environments in Terragen 2.

When I get permission I'll post a quick write up with some of the development renders.

Terragen was amazing during the creation and concept phase, as locations and directors ideas changed, we were able to respond quickly with highly detailed tests.

Hey thats really cool!
I wanted to see this movie but I saw Prometheus instead. I hope to get to see it this week now. It looks like the best telling of the story ever done. I hope its as good as it looks!

Congrats on finishing a new project!
It has been eaten.

Congrats your first TG2 film project! Great to hear how well it worked for the production. I can't wait to check it out!  :)

Thanks guys.

Was a bit of a dream come true, after years of broadcast work, I'd always wanted to work in film.
The big terragen shot was a tricky one too, it had to match a merge perfectly with a film plate shot on location.

Also just finishing off on a short film project called 'The End' that I'm doing the intro for, lots of terragen space shots, as well as completing work on total recall.
Been very busy.

Cheers

Great work Chris. I saw a breakdown of the SWATH shots on FXGuide, only mentioned TG once so looking forward to more :)
Well done on your dream

Congrats Chris :)
Trailers made me think I should go and see it but reviews didn't and now this news makes me argue with myself again...so what should I do? ;)

Great!  I was amazed at the scenery in this film and this shoots my expectations for TG2 through the roof!  Congrats on fine artwork!
So this is Disney World.  Can we live here?

Is that kind of thing hard to do? I want to ask lots of questions about this, but I know its better to wait for your post. Hope it will come before I see the movie, I want to know what to look for.

Not sure but here is a little information besides many other!

Hi guys,

Sorry for the late reply.

Haven't been able to get permission as yet to write anything up, and have had barely the time to catch my breath lately.
Still something I want to do, and as soon as I get the time I will.

In-between working on the last two films I also completed work on a short film called 'the end'

https://vimeo.com/44880385

Contains lots of terragen work on the intro, nebulas and so on.

Guilty of taking too much work on, and I've also been made cg lead at my studio, must be a glutton for punishment!

Thanks for all the comments guys.

Thanks for the link to the short, pretty funny and I kinda can get where the guy is coming from :)
Of course if you ever find that you really have too much work ... :)
