Hey guys,

we have just finished the work of revamping the NWDA Cumulus Pack V2 entirely, to have it support all the new TG2 rendering features, that have been introduced with newer version of Terragen. Now the pack is fully compatible and making full use of Terragen 2.4 and above.

- Better lighting
- More defined shapes
- Localized clouds
- Ray trace atmosphere
- Huge render speed gains. One of the projects is like 3 times as fast as it used to be.
- Several project improvements on each of the included scenes

Previously there were 2 other cloud types included in the pack, but we felt they are not up to today's quality standards, and are much better covered through the NWDA Sky Starter Pack, which is free of charge for private use.

So in essence, the NWDA Cumulus Pack V2.3 is the best cumulus pack we ever had, produces the greatest results, faster than ever, and more beautiful than before!!!

Note: this is not a free upgrade, but it comes at the usual affordable price for private use.

Best regards,
Frank

Is there somewhere I can read about how these packs work? Not the results. Pictures can speak for themselves. Are they just native presets (parameter sets) within TG2 or are they plugins (software add-ons with their own parameters)? Otherwise, are these clouds like objects that are placed in certain locations or are they global systems that only manifest their forms in certain areas where I specify? I need to conceptualize before I can consider them. Please understand, I have the mind of an engineer (not a conventional artist) and I can't just memorize a kazillion UI steps like some TG2 users seem to be able to do to get a result. No offense intended. And Thanks. (pictures look amazing)

Hi Pablo,

these are so called localized clouds, which means they can be put to any location on the planet. You can try it out yourself:
1. create a cloud layer.
2. check localize in the cloud node
3. check move textures with cloud in the cloud node
4. change the coordinates under the localized cloud options on the cloud node and see what happens.

The pack ships 3 complete project files. If you want to use the clouds in a differnt project, simply save the atmosphere group and all its nodes as a clip file, and then import that clip file into your custom project.
The packs don't come with documentation, turorial or explanations, other than (sometimes) a few "note nodes" inside the project files that provide some basic orientation. You would have to bring a general understanding of TG2 before these are any useful to you.
Also, in these products we don't explain why nodes are connected they way they are, that would be a never ending story, but it's all transparent and you can explore every aspect if you so wish.

Why not just try them out? They are so much low price, I would say there is not much risk involved, is there?

Frank

Hello Markus,

NWDA is down for some more weeks. Sorry for that.
