For those who enjoy creating space art, 3D Art Live has organised a new webinar that will give some great tips and tricks from an artist who has honed his workflow using Terragen 2 and Photoshop.

The presenter is Ron Miller who is a prolific illustrator and author living in South Boston, Virginia specializing in science, astronomy, science fiction and fantasy, with Terragen regularly used as part of his toolset. In addition to providing artwork for many magazine and book publishers, he is the author, co-author or editor of some fifty-odd books (some odder than others), including several novels.  Miller's books include the Hugo awarded "The Art of Chesley Bonestell", Hugo-nominated  "The Grand Tour", "Cycles of Fire", "In the Stream of Stars" and "The History of Earth." He has designed postage stamps and worked on motion pictures including Dune and Total Recall and worked on preproduction concepts, consultation and matte art for David Lynch, George Miller, John Ellis, UFO Films and James Cameron.

In this live webinar Ron reveals some of his essential tips and methods from his work flow to benefit other space artists, including:-

- Doing your homework: Where to find reliable information about stars and planets...and getting the information an artist needs.
- Creating custom heightfield maps for Terragen.
- Enhancing Terragen with post-rendering textures.
- Creating a realistic sun or star.
- Considering light and shadow on other worlds.
- "Astronomical art" vs. "space art."
- Applying the rules of landscape painting to astronomical art.
- Effective composition and design.
- Using light and shadow for composition and drama.
- Forced perspective.
