Been on a TG2 kick since the announcement of TG3!

Pops: 1 grass by Walli, trees by XFrog

Some of the stuff produced by you guys over the past 6 or so  months has been staggeringly good :)

Dune

But this is nice too. I like the softness of your atmo. Only one thing I'd do is to decrease coverage of trees higher up the mountain, i.e. set a more fuzzy zone to the distribution.

TheBadger

agree with ulco. Otherwise very nice!

hi there Eoin!
great atmo here... looking forward to seeing what comes next!

Very nice. The composition is a bit odd though. Having all that sky is a cool idea but I would widen the view and maybe try to put some kind of slight contrast in the sky somewhere. That might actually happen anyway due to wide angle stretching of clouds.

I love the light in this picture. Maybe reduce the size of trees and their populations high on the snowy mountains.  :)

I got TG3 and will try some fixes over the next day or two - thanks, all :)

TG3 render... changed treeline, snow and water a little.  Perhaps now looks a little unreal...  I've noticed in both pics that the grass population is horribly aliased in the water's reflection... any ideas on how to reduce this (other than blur brush in PS!)?

TheBadger

You know, I don't think the snow makes much sense here now. And image one looked closer to a photo.
The two images are quite far apart now.
Still like it. But thats just my thought about it.

I think you're right... and now that I remember I deviated from my usual lighting setup and removed 2 lights and 1 enviro from the render... I might try adding them back in and try again.  Also, change the snow, and add an extra octave to the terrain.  Cheers!

Eoin, looks good but like Michael said... something missing... maybe the trees need to be smaller, will that make the scales fit better?
maybe the snow will seem more at home then?
cheers
J
ps its good to see you with TG3!
:)

That second image is looking great Eoin. I'm thinking maybe a dead tree, leaning over and poking up out of the water in the foreground would pique this scene. And, maybe some wind patches on the water.
