Thank you :)
I just had an idea what i could make with this further.
Not from a technical standpoint only as just another image.
Not sure how it will end but if it is any little good i will post it .

choronr

So impressive that last one; inspirations are coming fast and furious.

Kadri

Thanks :)

This is not the image i wrote about above.
That one will take much longer.

The first one was kinda stylistic.
So i thought  why not to take that a little further .
This reminds me on the old science fiction book covers.
Not sure if you will like it but i like this more then the first one.

Outstanding!
Very Graphic. Very fun Science Fiction.

Good to see so many new posts Kadri. Hope your vacation is over.

Thanks Michael!
How is your project going?

Anything is possible in technology; and, everything is possible here with your fine work Kadri ...super creativity!

Kadri

Thank you for your kind words Bob :)

Dune

Not wanting to hijack your thread, Kadri, but you got me experimenting. Nice to know the possibilities.

No problem Ulco.
Yeah there are so many possibility's.
It can work from closeup too but it is very scene-light depended .
Of course it is made to work as a cloud .
So using an object is probably still mostly better or easier probably.

But it is a nice additional option nevertheless .
Standard displacements are easier to texturing-lighting but clouds can have less problematic displacements so far i see.
I doubt that this is a priority on the to do list , if at all, but it would be nice to have the same options for them.
Maybe it can be done i don't have tried everything that can be done of course.

And by the way if Matt sees this...
I don't know the inner workings of TG3 but is there a way to get the clouds export as objects too?

Hannes

That really looks awesome!

Oshyan

Clouds aren't treated as objects (and they can't be exported), displacement doesn't actually have any effect on them. Cool results though, very creative.

Thanks Michael!
How is your project going?

Slowly but surely.

...

Guys, I don't understand the process in this thread at all. I probably misunderstand, but it appears that clouds are being made to take on the shape of 3D objects. I thought that was not possible?

So your using an image map to get some basic geometric forms? But how do you get a cloud to look like building materials like metal?

Perhaps this subject is worthy of a tutorial.

Sorry for the late reply . I wasn't at home ...

Osyhan that was more a question if there is anything possible in the future  .
I kinda knew the answer . But asking doesn't hurt .Thanks :)

Michael the general idea is really basic.
Writing is harder for me.
Please look at this basic TGC example with 2 image masks and clouds i attached here.
Attach images or other nodes in the lighting inputs of the clouds for texturing .
Hope this helps.

Hi kadri,

Sorry, but, did you make this in T3? I opened the terragen file, theres nothing there. Just the default scene.
Or am I blind?
