Looking good. What I would try is a vertical picture ratio format; zoom in on a few cacti; make sure to get 2/3 terrain and 1/3 sky - then, add some rocks/stones around the area including some dry bushes and weeds.

Sorry, I'm maybe asking too much - but, I think you'll be pleased with the results.

Ooo, yeah, good idea Bob, that last one is great Yossam! Sky is a bit oddly desaturated (perhaps the whole image is, I imagine this is intentional), but lots of good detail and surfacing.

The sky was just a little too cyan for what I was trying to do. It was intentional.

Noticed the roadrunner at once... (birdwatcher). Very nice render indeed, but I agree with Oshyan about the sky. If you make that more natural, it's very photographic.

For some reason this rendered really fast (about 90 minutes) and I was experimenting with GISD settings. There are 9 populations and 6 surface layers. And a roadrunner.
