Moved update to new post

Really like the fore and mid ground areas.  The walking trail could maybe be smoothed out a bit where it jogs up the slope.

Those cliffs look really cool, what node setup, if I may ask, did you use for those?

Mick, this is beautiful. Love those displacements in the mountain.

Dune

Yes, I love it too. Great rocks, great grass coverage and very nice loose rocks. Very photographic. I agree with Ryan about the trail though. There's a weird bit in it higher up (you should have used my road setup  ;). )

EoinArmstrong

Lovely mood - love the cliffs and the rock/stone placement

Thanks all. I don't really like the path either, I'll play with it some more.  The rocks are very simple - one PF lateral perlin displacement stretched on the y axis, two counter angled very faint strata shaders and my rotated voronoi cracks

Hannes

This really looks amazing. The cliffs are incredibly good. I agree about the path. The first second I took a look at your picture it came into my mind, that a rainy overcast sky would fit perfectly imho. I know, it's not that easy to create convincing lighting when there is no direct sunlight, but maybe with the new GISD features it may work.

mhaze

Cheers Hannes - it would be more like Scotland, maybe I can get light through the clouds ;)

Mr_Lamppost

the first thing I thought was: this needs to be wet and misty".  ;D  Although Scotland actually had a two week summer this year. I am guessing that you will need to keep some directional light to show off the rock surfacing.
Smoke me a kipper I'll be back for breakfast.

Excellent rock texturing...has a photorealistic look...I think its unanimous on the path or trail...needs some tweaking. Still an excellent image!

TheBadger

looks great. Needs some more atmo though. Otherwise I like it a lot too.
It has been eaten.

Apart from minor problems with path, and sky/lighting (toned down lighting on terrain suggests a more stereotypical Scottish dreich sky) I really like this Scottish landscape scene; the ground cover and rock texture are excellent. Great work.
I hope I realise I don't exist before I apparently die.
