Hi guys, i was trying to made first attempts with TG3 Pro (basically  re-render of my last made in TG2, just to try).
I was wondering for render time when defer atmo cloud options is enabled;
Looks like to me that render time raise dramatically in TG3 in a way that didn't happen in TG2
I need to say that sky quality raise a lot (at least with low quality crop test)
but time raise by a 5x factor ( 2' 29'' disabled vs 12' 43'' enabled,  1280*534@0.3 - AA 3 - GI 3-3  - Core i7 4770K 16Gb RAM)
Could it be because tgd file i'm using was TG2 file( only populator conversion was made), or this is a normal behaviour?
In Attach the crop image inline (47k)

Defer Atmo works exactly the same way in Terragen 3 as Raytrace Atmosphere did in TG2, so if you were using it successfully in TG2 you should be able to do so in TG3. It does require some tuning of settings when you enable it though, for best render times and quality. You probably just need to reduce the cloud Quality to 1 (or possibly below), and also possibly reduce atmosphere samples. Both can usually be lower with Defer Atmo than without.

Thank you Oshyan, i learn how to manage render times with atmo quality slide now.
I reduce render time gap from 5X to less than 2X to that point, that is reasonable for me.

Cool image. Hope we will see this finished.
Hi, Thank you,  i didn't finalize it because it was a re-render of a TG2 version done to see how in TG3 could be better manage dark areas without adding a third sun, but i was not able to push out substantial quality increase :(

You can find the version done with TG2 here
