Hello,

I wanted to try color variation on trees. It works really well.
One concern here : if you look at the upper left, zooming in,  some "blue speckles are visible on the mountain surface. There are no reflection or specularity and I really don't know how to fix this in Terragen.
This is a Worldmachine ter exported terrain, I have just added some power fractal displacement and also some terraces here and there using painted shader.
The render setting is detail 0.7 with AA 10.

Any idea on how to fix the problem ?

David.

The "speckles" are probably holes in the terrain due to displacement. You can try increasing Displacement Tolerance in the Planet node, maybe try 1.5 or something (default is 1). Different settings in the Subdiv Settings node might also help; you can try the Check Animation button on the Sequence/Output tab as a test.

Thank you for your help Oshyan,

I have noticed that the lower the render detail setting is, the bigger these "meshes holes" or "speckles" are.
Anyway, I have tried different settings following your suggestions and the only one that resolved the problem was to enable "force all edges" in the render subdivision setting. It's all perfect now.
