Population not on terrain

I'm working with a terrain setup I'm not familiar with (which could be the problem). I attempted to insert a population for some grass but it doesn't seem to sit on the terrain. It populates it flat.
You can see there is a power fractal and a distance shader connected to a compute terrain, which is then hooked up to the population. I like the set up of the terrain as it is and don't wish to alter it. I just need any future populations to sit on the terrain.
FYI I cannot include a file for examination but can send over other screen grabs if needed.

Thanks for any ones help!

Playing around a bit, shows me that the Distance Shader is the culprit. When I disconnect it, the population sits on the terrain.

So the next question is how to get the population to sit on the terrain with the distance shader plugged in?

Thanks!

First of all, there is no camera connected to the distance shader. And that might be the problem as well.

Thank you! That did the trick! One more thing I've learned ;)
