Height/Displacement map from Fractal Shader?

hi there,

I want to ask, if there is a way, to export a terrain to a heightmap aka displacementmap.

I found already out, how to do this for a heightfield - but any way/idea how that could work for a "fractal generated global terrain"?

Hi,

You can connect shaders to the Shader input of a Heightfield generate node, and then export a heightfield using that. There's some more information here:

Hi Onkelpoe!

You can save a .exr file from the Heightfield shader and then convert it in Blender (Node Editor) into a heightmap.
To my knowledge, this dose not work for the whole planet, only for the Rectangular Heightfield.
