Looks like those stones were melted...must be a dragon...
Anycow...I like it. I would probably try to put a young tree or a flower in between 2 stones to see how it looks like. It would be the lone survivor

Yes, it's a great formation, lava like. Maybe you could extend this with sulphurous pools and steam.....

I like the latter iteration, but you should add a small wet border, IMO. Maybe you can make it very toxic with some very warped oily colored lines in/on the water....

Yes, Ulco is right. And if the water is toxic you could add something yukky, slippery, slimey to the brown areas. We need a puke smiley here.
