After a few test scenes, this is my first serious crack at something in Terragen. Mountains are a height field generated in World Machine. I'd appreciate feedback.

Good start........a couple of things that I would change. The mountains need some color variation. The water (?) being that rough should have some foam on the crest of the waves. Lastly, the clouds need to be better defined. Maybe increase the edge sharpness in the cloud layer. This is my opinion.........

Waiting to see more of this.  :)

Thanks guys

@Yossam - got a tip as to how I'd add foam or white caps to the water?

Nice start. For tips on foam, try the search here on the forum.

You could start by adding a white surface shader after the water shader, have it masked by a power fractal with some foamy texture (voronoi ridged). You can set height or favor tops, see what works for you. That's a simple setup.

Cloud updated. Played with the water but haven't really found the effect I want.

The intent with the mountains is for them to be barren. That anything there struggles to survive.

I like those clouds. Nice improvement ;)

I think I have it where I want it. The foam is visible yet remains subtle. This final image has been post-processed to add contrast and bring out the blues.

I like it for what you've done here. I think you could have done the same without post work though; yet, the outcome is very pleasing.

Nice work, however I think that the first image is the best out of the lot. The latest image seems quite unbalanced, the left side looks dramatic and moody where as the right just looks a bit plain in comparison. The clouds also look a lot more natural in the first image. But good stuff!

I did one more pass on it. I've built it as a visual for a fantasy role playing game I'm running so it's intended to move away from realism.

A little more foam on the water and better colours I think.

Dune

I'll put a foam file on the file sharing, that may be of help.
