Hi guys.

I have been having a lot of difficulty locating human figures of ancient greeks and romans. http://www.umich.edu/~homeros/Artgallerypages/ingres52.jpg http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/8/8c/David_-_The_Death_of_Socrates.jpg http://www.aeroartinc.com/media/catalog/product/cache/1/image/9df78eab33525d08d6e5fb8d27136e95/6/2/6252.jpg http://www.puttyandpaint.com/images/uploads/artistworks/330/cache/_mg_4727__sized_l.jpg stuff like that.

Solders too. Greek and romans. Any ideas where I can find? I saw a female figure on tubosquid but they wanted 100.00 and it was not very good. Im looking for something good quality.

I had thought it would be easy to find because of the popularity of the topic. But not much luck so far.

Thanks for any ideas.

Yes, it's hard finding nice figures, but how about dressing up some folk (or asking people who do reenactments) and using this: http://www.123dapp.com/catch

I didn't know this App. Does it work as a stand alone or do you need another software to run it ? And what the format of the files ?

Dune

I really don't know, never tried it, but it says you can upload a series of photo's circling your victim, and the online software will make it into an object (obj?).

kaedorg

I had a lot at a couple of tutorials. It seems to be possible to save as an obj file.

I gonna look for my first victim and I'll try this.

I played with 123 catch for awhile.  It works to a great extent but I found that anything useable required some tweaking, and there' s a sharp learning curve there

Dune

Sharp learning curve? Well, if you can handel TG.....

Thanks Yossam. So I guess that what I buy is just the clothing and stuff and then apply that to a Daz base model then? I have and use Daz sometimes, but I only have used it to create a base model for a figure before for export to maya. I have never bought any of their products. So Im not really sure about it yet. But I will really look at that now.

Michael............here are some plain Greek clothing items. Look for the long ones at the same site.

Thanks... Its a start. I am still hoping to find something perfect that I don't have to do any work on. But at least I wont have to start from zero. At least I can use the armor and stuff. The cloth I will probably have to do my self though.

Try Daz3d or Renderosity.  It'll cost but not so much.  You can use Daz studio which is free to pose and export the figures.  Good for animals too.
