As I had done a quick and simple image in Terragen that has served as a background image in a Modo landscaping scene, I have decided to improve it and here is the final result.
I hope it's not too dark.

David.

Update : I have added some rocks for greater realism.

Update 2 : I have lowered the shader 's clouds contrast and brightened somewhat the overall atmosphere.

Very nice relief. A bit dark but it gives a mood.
Some more details on surface especially on foreground could make a fantatic scene.
And clouds are a bit of cotton in my opinion.
But the scene is really nice. Good job here

Good looking terrain and I like how you've populated the trees. I like the cracks but at the bottom center of the image they look a bit too long (big) and linear.

Tnks for your comments.

I have posted an update. I hope it looks better.

David.

I raised the overall brightness of the final render (third image). I hope it looks better now.

I thought it looked nice from start.

But I better buy myself a new monitor because I don't see any difference :-)

What I thought looked unnatural was the crack from, I guess, a voronoi fractal. See attached image.

Thank you Oysterman. Yes I knew what problem you were talking about but I didn't think it was so important. I will see what I can do.
As for the brighness, in fact I only raised the sun up just 3 or 4 degrees but it gives more clarity on terrain, this is what I was looking for.

Oysterman

3-4 degrees? Good to hear because then l can keep my monitor.

No, the big crack isn't that important for the overall image.

Thank you !

I have added a last updated image correcting the bottom cracks problem.

Hey Antoine,

To me the cracks looks much better in image 4.

Good work.
