Starting working on a new commission, and I diverted a bit with this close up. Post glacial era in some part of the Netherlands..

Love all the little the details, the distribution of plants and stones is fantastic. I like the wetness/reflections off the snow also.

The two post glacial hunters dressed up as a mammoth are
a nice addition.  Monty Python? ;)

then i saw that i had read the post in the wrong way.

It has been eaten.

The guy up front must have problems seeing where he is going with that trunk in his way. Handy for evacuating his bladder though.

Seriously, I like the dispersal of the vegetation and snow. Nicely composed.

masonspappy

I do like the landscape - very well executed.

Actually, it's pretty basic. In fact I was also trying to make melted snow on, or at the edges of the snow patches with two layers of displacement intersection, but (having been out for a while) I must pick that up again. The melted parts now have the displacement, where they shouldn't have, and the snow hasn't, while that should have it.

Can see what you are striving for, however you seem to have the same grass problem as I have.  Animal's a bit weird to say the least. I really must get to the bottom of this grass thing, most grass in Terragen looks very artificial. whereas, if you look at real grass clumps they can be quite feathery and they usually have subtle colour changes from the bottom to the top of the fronds. I have tried making my own grass, but so far I am not satisfied that it looks right. If I manage it, I'll post how I did it.

I think those hunters picked up a female mammoth skin :D They might have a problem if the next mammoth on the way will be a dude ;D ;D

There's no 'real' grass in there, just a simple grass colored ground with one fake grass (fake stone) shader. The objects are low bushes. If you make grass objects and map them right, it shouldn't be a problem to change the color from base to tip, but you would only see that from very close by. You should also be able to 'map them procedurally' if for instance you want parts of the grass that hangs (read: is more horizontal than vertical) to be discolored, just by using a slope restraint on a pf.
