I looked at some reference pics, and it seems to be that the shadow directly under the jeep should be darker, and the distant shadow should be lighter..?  ???

Hmmm... wonder what this button does....

Good point. Not sure I could change that to look like you describe.

The lighting in N810's example is completely different compared to
the lighting of the scene. There you have indirect lighting almost exclusively
and that causes shadows that differ quite a lot.
The other thing is that the mud is rather reflective, which makes a difference,
too.In "reality" and in TG.

yea I couldn't find an example with the same lighting...  :-[

Dune

You could try a high sun with a huge shadow softness for some dark shadow under the car.

Thank you Ulco; I'm assuming this would be a second sun?

Dune

No, the main sun. Remember my tunnel with the landcruiser? I used it there, wiith quite some cirrus coverage (I think) to haze the sun up even more.

I don't recall the tunnel/LC image; but, I give it a try. I'm thinking this will change the whole appearance of the image.

Dune

It will, but it could be very nice. I believe I used a softness of 20 or even 50 for the shadows.

Doing it right now ...I'll be back.

I tried putting the main sun overhead; but, just too bright. Also, defeated the purpose of having the lights on on the truck. Added a second sun overhead and was able to achieve the darker shadow under the truck and still maintaining the secondary long shadow. The quality of this image is low (and poor); but, wanted to save some time. I think I'll reduce the strength of the second sun from 1 to 0.75.

Finally, hopefully will be trying to achieve some mud on the truck and getting the license to show up.

Many thanks to both Ulco and Jochen for putting up with my many questions and helping me along the way.

Well.... go off line with a Rocket Tab , a browser hijacker that installed itself, issue and come back to find this. Not only a great image in the works but a couple of solutions via Ulco thrown in...thanks youse guyz.

Thanks Bobby, some morning I'd like to wake up and find my short term memory retention was back and working again. Not only Ulco; but Jochen as well - both guys helped me a lot.
