Mountain Meadow

First scene in a good while, after some hiccups finally got it rendered. Used an old scene that I had made prior to re-organizing my objects files so I had to redo all the objects. The pines are the only objects left original.

Wow, that's nice! We often use the word "painterly" here, but this is definitely the "painterliest" image so far. Very moody. It makes you feel good instantly.
Nevertheless some minor crit: the small area in the middle on the right side, where the trees' population is less dense, looks a bit empty. Maybe some ground cover would help? Or some colour variation of the ground shader?

Looking very good. But, you might consider changing the type of tree on the left; the leaves seem to jiggle the eyes.

I may or may not have gotten a bit lazy with the ground shaders (as in, I think it's just the base shader with some displacement, I'm not sure I even put in a normal surface shader save for the snow) though on test renders it seemed it would not be particularly noticable and it would save me from having to put in another large groundcover population to just leave it. In retrospect I probably could have put a little (maybe alot haha) more effort into it to add a little realism to those parts.

I agree that it has a very painterly a dreamy feel, really nice. But I also agree about the left tree and the redness. If you take a really high quality tree, and subdue the grass a bit, or make it greener/yellowish, it's a stunner. I guess the soft cloud shadows on the far mountain makes it painterly mostly.
