Good afternoon everyone,

I've started to evaluate Terragen for inclusion in my current workflow, still learning the basics but the learning curve isn't particularly steep.
Anyway, I have this terrain that I'd like to use for a number of scenes (I'll import cameras from 3dsMax once I go to the full version): I know I can bind a camera to a render node, but is it also possible to link sunlights, enviro lights, atmosphere, and clouds to a render node, so that I can just select it and Terragen will apply all correct settings?
Alternatively, is there a function similar to 3dsMax's XRefs? Like, I create the terrain I want (geometry and shaders), import it into several scenes, all with different lights and cameras?
Thanks.

Matt

You can use Render Layers to select light groups, object groups, and more. You can also use object groups to select different sets of cloud nodes and atmospheres, but you need to use a different planet for each group of clouds or atmospheres so that the object group can select the planet that they're connected to. It doesn't work directly with the cloud or atmosphere nodes.

Render Layers aren't available in the free edition, but if you'd like a temporary evaluation key for Terragen Professional just let us know and we will send you one.

Just because milk is white doesn't mean that clouds are made of milk.

Thanks Matt, that's a very useful feature. And thanks for the temp program key offer too :)
