I found some long exposure photo's of seas (taken some myself years ago as well), and wanted to replicate that. Some iterations, not perfect.

Oshyan

Cool. Are you literally using a cloud to emulate that long exposure of the ocean look?

Ha! What uncanny timing. I was just thinking of this as an idea for an image (including ice on the beach!) last night while I was taking a walk.

Interesting stuff. I'm looking forward to seeing further developments.

Yes, cloud, and the next one is quite nice, if I may say so myself  ::) (including ice on the beach, what timing indeed)

Next, nearly done with this again.

Amazing!
Still only clouds for the water?

choronr

Very good. These midnight sun type images are beautiful.

Dune

Only one cloud layer of 2m thick + some mapping and coloring in the other inputs.

Oshyan

Interesting, so the cloud layer is what is getting you the "soft reflection" (specular) of the sun? Or is there also a water/reflective shader layer under the cloud layer?

Dune

Just applied some TG magic  ;)  (SSS)

Here's another version, and one without the cloud.

With this low light, generating a good scene is difficult. Nice work Ulco!
