I've decided to take a stab at an alpine meadow full of wildflowers. The terrain is of Mt. Rainier, near Mazama Ridge, with some erosion and snow added in World Machine. All told there are 16 populations, which made for higher than expected render times, but wasn't really a problem. I want to do some work with the mid-ground trees to give ore variety in variety and color. Thanks for looking.

Looks quite nice already! I like most of the scene, but for some reason the clouds in particular look very good to me. Just very natural, not showy or anything, just realistic. Overall I think exposure could be upped a tad. Nothing is overly dark and perhaps this mood fits the weather best, but it just seems a little dim and dull in light and overall "punch" to me... The varied lighting on the mountain looks great though, I must say. :)

Dune

I agree with Oshyan; very nice, but on the dark side.

Excellent work - those clouds are great.  I too find it too dark.

In the low mountain areas this kind of lighting is common...very like British Columbia CA on a typical overcast day in the mountains. Big Like, and not too dark for me....

I think it's just that if I were standing there as a photographer, I would increase exposure to get a more pleasing effect.

Thank you, all, for the input! The "dark" side must be strong with this one! lol

Oshyan

Well, you *are* Darth Vader, so I'm not really surprised. ;)

Version 2 has been brought a bit closer to the light side of the force. I upped the exposure, changed the sun's heading, and made the rock surfaces more interesting and detailed. Coming along nicely, it is.

I think that made a pretty big difference really. Put side to side, I really like this new one much more.

It may just be me but the snow seems mighty thick on the slopes compared to the 'full summer' flora you have happening... which looks great btw, just seems at seasonal odds from front to back
