The tests bellow shown below looks great, im wondering if you are one of this gentleman who would not mind to share scenes and tips with me to help me?
It would be super awesome and greatly appreciated! :))

a bed of cloud is not too complicated
but if you want to skip the boring part:
here I leave a Tgc file for you play with him
originally created to maintain a realistic look around 100km altitude
but also works fantastic at 5km
recommend playing with coverage adjust and density settings
Hmmm, what version of Terragen does God use?

Oshyan

Luc Bianco also has a scene available that works perfectly for this:

thanks Ariel, it's a good start! :)
What's the image shader is used to? i haven't the image/alpha you are using...

Mny thanks!

bigben

It's from his experiments with global cloud scenes. It's a texture map (blue marble image) and is being used in this case to restrict the clouds to being just over the land. You can delete this branch of the network

just what Ben said. my computer is full of Tgc files. and I need to organize
you can delete this node, but just in case you still want the image

Some of these are really quite realistic, especially in the 2nd set. Let us know if you end up using TG for any projects, I'm sure the results would be fantastic.

Hi Vincent, I agree with Oshyan, the second set for me is the stronger of the two... Some very nice shapes and shadows there!
Cheers

Well, actually feedback were good but i may have to do a lot's of matte painting at the end for this MPC job as people still find something is missing in procedural skies ...

We could find tons of skies pictures, but as soon as you want a decent quality and the right lighting, shape, mood, and perspective...  well you quickly realize it's a more difficult problem that what you may believe if you have tried this by yourself... So well i may endup 100% matte painting and houdini clouds FG or a mix of mattepainting paintover terragen skies...

Hey Vince, I am also working on some "above the clouds" shots. I Attached some test images that I have done. I am not happy with them yet. I feel that there is not enough randomness in the bed of clouds.

The thread below looks like the right direction to go. Take a look at the images 8 posts down by Hetzen. I have not been able to figure out how to set this up the nodes look a bit complicated :( I very new to TG. This could ad a level of randomness / realism to clouds. Similar to the last image u posted. Can please share basic setup of a file on the "Cloud Busting" set up?

(altitude depth modulation?)

Thanks for pointing to this picture :)
