Hi .. some days ago I started a project with no aim of such an artistic impact or anything similar, but just in order to study the elements I was going to put in it. Then I lost the project for a parse error and tried to replicate it at my best. I think it is better then the previous file and now I'm interested in trying to do with this project the best that I can ..

Render 1: no sunset or change in cloud color
Render 3: different light and little orange given to the clouds

What I did here has been:
(has a study purpose)
-trying to obtain some movement with a single kind of tree and 3 populations playing with min and max scale, and strength of color with a first population that only occupies one row, then a second pop that occupies a second row ( but taller), then again a third population that occupies the rest of the visible 'island'.
-the land is a shape shader... covered with a grass shader and some grass.

for the clouds I tried my best to obtain something different from the default clouds I usually obtain, following some tips I found on this forum . . in render 1 they are white but the scene seemed to cold to me, like I did need a warm tone in it, so I thought it was better to lower the sun in render 2..
- as a consequence of lowering the sun I increased the camera exposure (maybe too much, I see too light in render 2 in the left part) and I gave an orange tone to the clouds to give more strength to the ccolors of the sunset.

I'm still in the very first phase as user of this software, please keep in mind that terragen's still ..cloudy for me :( (almost as writing in English all this stuff :-\)... I'd really appreciate some hints on how to go on now.. I was thinking that maybe some far mountains on the left can be a start..
what do you think?

many thanks..

PS hope images are fine, I could not find the rules for posting images anymore..

Beautiful effect,
glad you could reconstruct it!

I really like number two.  I can't see a full sized image at the moment so I hope this is a fair comment, the shoreline looks very straight - try breaking it up with a PF.  I'll paste a way of doing this later when my render is finished.

Here's the file adjust size of SSS and PF to suit

Has a bit of a "tree farm" look with regular rows so maybe try distributing the trees with a Distribution shader and breaking them up with the Fractal breakup . Start with the small trees and then using the same distribution shader invert the break up for the 2nd batch of trees.
Agree with breaking up the shoreline as well. Good start.
