trying for a desert/canyon/mountain image, but I'm missing something, any tips to improve this image?

More veggies, fake stones, shoreline should be "wet".  ;D

Indeed, I would assume plants to flourish at the waterline. Reeds, palm trees, papyrus. And the wet shore!

Really nice base terrain. Agree with others about adding fake stones. also maybe erosion? And perhaps some more sand in some places, but of a different texture and slight color difference?

Water needs a little more action to it?
It has been eaten.
