Some dead/twisted trees or stumps, ruins, dramatic clouds... something that screams "desolation"  ;D (face is completely appropriate for the subject, I know lol)

fleetwood

Already reminds me of the land of Rohan from Lord of the Rings. Horse country, snow on the peaks, Orthanc tower in the distance, a winding river.

Stranded

Maybe a mangled fence with a warning sign dangling from it to reinforce the danger of going any further.

Thx guys for the input. Seems like we going to be dark here :) Thats okay, I like it hehehe...
Well I will look through my models and see what I can use here...will post results.

Maybe something like this.

Lol, that will be a challenge for me since never did a road before but I will try. I think I had a castle somewhere but not sure...I hope since your idea is cool :)

You can just hover over the country and paint the road from top down. You can make a natural castle by using a displaced circular simple shape on that bump, then add a vortex shader...

TheBadger

Cool. I like where this is, and where it looks like it is going!
It has been eaten.

So I added a disc with a PF into the displacement function on the default shader...not sure if this was your idea... ???

No, just a circular (and 50% or so soft) simple shape on the location of the mountain/rock, and have it displaced (either through displacement shader or within the SSS), then haul this through a vortex, with about the same size as the SSS. Ah, you need a PF as wel.

Thx God u are back ;D
Was waiting for your answer all day. Did all kind of test but...khm... :(

Yeah, I'm only online a few periods per day. Hope you get it done. But an object is also possible of course.

Looking your screenshot I have a question. Maybe a stupid one but how come you even have a 3d preview when u have a broken flow line?

Its trippy to see how different the windows version of TG is from the mac version that I use as far as the pop windows etc, interesting.
