Starfield and Nebula

Decided to make my own starfield, which then ended up in adding a nebula. I've been trying to get the scales right to add more detail which is actually a lot more frustrating then I thought it was going to be. However It isn't turning out too bad.

Good start,
but at least on my screen there es a very intense contrast between white and red stars, is that intentional?
I use a power fractal of bright blue and bright orange in my old starfield.

may not be the best, but I think the colors are ok.

I think that literally is the GI contrast crank to .45 and the gradient to actual night from the sunset. I need to tweak that. I also had a red nebula, which is why red is not a pale color like the other. Forgot to adjust that as well. Thanks for the input, and that is a lovely pluto for just being bump/colour mapping.

I like the slightly shine at the horizon very much. The nebula is a bit too bright in my eyes.

But I like pics like this, because I tried a long time to take photos from night sky. Go on!

Very sci-fi, nice nebula.
In my Eye the stars are distributet to uniformly, inhabitants of you world would have a hard time navigating by constellations (but they would have the nebula instead).
Maybe a low coverage big scale fractal to mask out some regions?

Already tried masks, that's where it looks fake. Better to tighten the offset even more to get larger space between speckles. I'm not sure you have sser been where there is no light pollution but there are billions of stars,looks like static across the sky. Especially on the milky way band. Navigation was by the brightest stars. Each colored star map has a unique seed so your mind may be playing matrixing on you with near infinite possibility with dot matrix. To the right of the moon we have two similar looking star bands.

I'd like to add another layer of stars which are larger to add size variance but  any larger and you can pick out the not-so cylindrical shape of the stars.

Less stars, tried adding larger stars. For some reason the moon went dark when I moved it into the background object to tidy up. Not sure what that's about...
