Panel color

Hi is it possible to change some or all of the white information panels to a mid to dark grey,with white font. Find the amount of white quite hard on the eyes especially when checking render progress in the early hours of the morning. See Houdini has only recently changed it's interface colour from light to dark makes a big difference in the look and feel of the program.

Isn't the UI Windows Shell specific? So you could just use a dark windowed Windows theme?

Yes, that's more or less true, but that means you have to change your entire OS's UI.

True, but then again that's the point. If you are straining your eyes you are suppose to adjust your theme. For example people with color blind issues should be using color blind theme settings to prevent eye strain; which is damaging your eyes and risking higher chances of getting and having early onset of sight failure.

Best place is on DevientArt. Put in "Dark Windows 7 Themes" or w/e. That's where artists really host most their themes, most other websites rip themes to get their hits. I suggest Placebo which will be your first result on a lot of searches (one of the most popular themes for Windows 7). Steam Theme is nice too.

Steam theme works pretty well with Terragen. Nice and dark. Terragen seems to be running better on a fresh reformat as well. There are a couple utilities you'll need to use them.

1) Universal Theme Patcher
2) System File Replacer (DeviantArt)

Windows doesn't give users much control over the colours with their modern themes (since XP). To have full control like the good old days you have to switch to the Windows Classic theme, or use third party hacks which in my experience caused me some system stability problems (although it's been years since I last tried, so maybe the links above work better). The Classic theme looks very dated and ugly to me, but I use it sometimes when working in a dark environment.

We plan to add a dark option to the Terragen GUI in future.
