Thin the clouds or increase your ground GI.

I like the new mood. ;-) You could expose the exr-output to satisfy the other's lighting needs ,-)

I agree completely!

Also on the left side of the 3D preview window there's an exposure slider that I've started using since I remembered it to brighten up an over dark image....

Another update WHEEEeeee..still adjusting lighting. Shadows are to hard, and for some weird reason setting "use soft shadows" crashes TG every time I click on it..have to figure that out, I think it has to do with the image map I applied to the fake stones, I dunno.

bobbystahr

Very nice stone work and yup, the lighting is much improved. Never ran into that crash problem with use soft shadows. I just had an unsaved session crash when I deleted a displaceable plane object from the node view myself...bugger.

the stones and grass in the foreground look to "smeared" so I'm gonna do a re-render again hehe, luckily this file doesn't take to long to render out hehe.

I liked your start and thought the second iteration (rock stone 3.jpg) showed some nice improvements.
This latest update makes me speechless, I just don't know what to say, but only ask uncomfortably: what did you do to your nice render?
Please revert to your previous version and make small step by step/incremental changes to your scene.

Indeed, to brighten up shadows off your terrain/surfaces you can do 2 things in your situation:
1) decrease cloud density to allow more light pass through
2) increase "strenght on surfaces" setting in the "enviro light" node. Say from 1 to 1.5 or from 1 to 2.

Good luck and take it easy with changing stuff! ;)

Cheers,
Martin

Oh I know I change stuff all the time, I fiddle til I get what I want LOL!! Great suggestions from everyone I will apply those and make a pretty picture:-)

Hannes

I totally agree with Martin. If you'd improve the first one, it would be a killer image.
