Bushes and tumbleweeds are a great idea. This could look like an arid and cold place.

Nice start. This would also work as an evening scene, sun going down very low, some spotlights shining on the chapel, some whisps of haze. A congregation of some sort....

It does indeed. You should darken the twigs of the heather, btw. And how about some eerie lights and spotlights?

Promising.
Maybe some mysterious glow or so.
Might look cool to have the light in a position where it would bring out the contour line
of the cliff and building a bit more.
